• There is need for stronger financial norms and rules to protect the public interest, with regard to corporate taxation, concessions, public procurements, privatizations, loans & financial balances that currently often privatize profits while socializing the losses. Building sound financial normative frameworks based on social commitments will contribute to increasing public budgets.

What they argued
As a network against poverty, we would like to point out something we have been calling for attention for years, namely the huge use of pesticides, of neonicotinoids, including the very dangerous glyphosate. People on low incomes cannot buy organic products and therefore rely on mass sprayed products and meat from the livestock industry. This has a huge impact on them and their children.

For EAPN Netherlands this is a first, good, step to rebuilt the taxsystem that is too long based on supporting the companies and using it as a kind of competition model to spawn the big companies and the rich. It is really a time for a change. The next step that EAPN NL feels as necessary is to introduce the Financial Transaction Tax in 2022.
Time for change. This is the basis of this feedback. Time to support the proposal from the Portugese EU presidency to introduce in 2022 an EU Financial Transaction Tax, including the derivatives. This way the strategy for private investors is cleared from discussions, since they know from the start that they will have to take into account the FTT.
