What they argued
An ERA act must safeguard research integrity, openness, impartiality, and academic freedom. Europe has long led in this field, but in todays political climate it is even more crucial to ensure that research institutions remain free from political and economic pressures. Their impartiality is the mandatory prerequisite for trust in science, accountability, and truly responsible research and innovation.
Research Infrastructures (RIs) are vital to the European Research Area (ERA), but their effectiveness depends on attracting and retaining highly skilled professionals. They operate with small teams, so staff must be top performers and combine top-level technical/scientific expertise with adaptability, soft skills, and intercultural competence to succeed in a dynamic international environment.
