What they argued

Chips Act 2.0filed 27 Oct 2025source

We need more focus on innovative chip technologies in which Europe has a clear advantage (for example novel photonic chips, not based on silicon). Less focus on chip technologies in which Europe would only be attempting to catch-up to others far ahead. The most crucial issue is however on the funding side.

Open topic calls should remain for both RIA & IA. In case focus topic calls will be launched they should be opened 6months before the deadline (3 months is not enough). Lab2Fab kind of initiatives should be open also for associated states. SRIA can be broad as it is today but there should be also a short summary of strategic topics. Sustainability should be present (PFAS, repairability, ultra-low energy, reuse...).

Everything on this page comes from CSEM’s own submissions to the European Commission — we have added nothing and interpreted nothing.
