NGT plants (or ‘new genomic techniques’) have been classified as GMOs since 2018 and their cultivation is therefore prohibited in the European Union. In my view, it is impossible to relax the rules in force, given the consequences that this would have on public health in general. I am strongly against this proposal to relax NGT plant legislation.

I am against genetically modified organisms. Precautionary principles and because there are other non-intrusive methods for making healthy farming for public health. Agricultural lobbyists want to force the EU to introduce GMOs simply for profit and not to feed the planet. The European Union has already decided to prohibit them from doing so.
