What they argued

Evaluation of the Geo-blocking Regulationfiled 11 Mar 2025source

For Alpha Violet International Sales: Geo-blocking regulation is necessary for maintaining the economic sustainability of cinema, which relies heavily on territorial exclusivity. This regulation allows us to sell Films Rights from territorial arrangements and allows Distributors to benefit from their revenues further to their expenses comprised for their Territory.

Evaluation of the Geo-blocking Regulationfiled 6 Mar 2025source

In order to allow a variety of films to be shown in the European Union, players (international distributors and distributors) must be able to earn money to finance the next films. The films are expensive to finance (much more than music) and the geoblocking model makes it possible to bring money to producers.
