This and the previous call for evidence suggest that the amendment was technical and limited in scope. Manufacturers and users of other instruments are made to mistakenly believe that they were not affected. For instance, the absence of feedback should not be read as restaurants accept the ban on drinking glasses, fundamentally changing the centuries-old and well-accepted modalities of their business.
Agentur für Messwertqualität und Innovation e.V.
Consumer organization · Germany
not in the EU Transparency RegisterThis organization files on consultations without a register number, so its record here is built from its filings alone. Register facts — staff, costs, accreditations — are not available for it.
Counts here are a floor, never a total: they cover the 639 consultation files tracked so far (53,766 submissions, mostly 2021–26), so an organization's real filing history is larger, not smaller.

What they argued
The proposal is sure to have substantial and unintended, very harmful side effects. It will adversely affect European manufacturers, users of measuring instruments and consumers. It will further slow down the roll out of smart grids and EV charging infrastructure, and reduce consumer protection, thereby harming the "fit for 55" goals. It must not be implemented without impact assessment and cost benefit analysis.
We thank you for the opportunity to comment on the MID and the NAWID. In our opinion, coherence is crucial. We think there should be only one EU directive on metrology to strengthen the coherence. The MID and the NAWID should be combined. Consequently, we submit the same comment both in the MID and in the NAWID call for evidence.
