European aviation has a long-held tradition of defending passenger rights. Indeed, based on the experience acquired in the past, those rights have been recognised and transposed to other modes of transport. European airports are committed to the continuous improvement of the quality of the services offered to passengers and to the effective enforcement of their rights.
ACI EUROPE key asks for the Fitness Check of EU airport legislation Airport Charges The Airport Charges Directive (ACD) is the right form of EU legislation for the economic regulation of airports. The 2019 EU evaluation indicates market forces, not the Directive, drive efficient outcomes, minimising the need for stringent regulation.
Consultation on Regulation (EC) 1008/2008 The shifting geopolitical landscape demands stronger aviation resilience. Airports must be able to invest rapidly in cyber-security, insider-threat defences and dual-use capacity; State financing for such measures should sit outside normal State-aid rules. The European Commission should clarify which public-interest operations qualify. Network resilience.
