WorldGBC and the Europe Regional Network welcome this consultation on the Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement. We support a comprehensive revision of the Directive and call on the European Commission to acknowledge that procurement is a crucial way to drive an energy efficient, low emission, regenerative and just transition in the built environment.
The World Green Building Council's Europe Regional Network, comprising 25 national Green Building Councils representing 5,000 members and six regional industry partners, hereby submits the attached position paper in response to the consultation on the revision of the EU's public procurement rules.
The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) welcomes the European Commissions review of the EU Taxonomy Climate and Environmental Delegated Acts and emphasises the need for simplification while maintaining alignment with evolving regulatory and market conditions. A full response with references and literature is attached.
The WorldGBC network welcomes the European Commissions initiative to enhance the usability of the EU Taxonomy technical screening criteria, improve clarity, reduce administrative burdens, and ensure a proportionate and evidence based update of those criteria. WorldGBC specifically welcomes the alignment with the 2024 recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (Directive (EU) 2024/1275).
