We welcome the revision of the regulation as an opportunity to remove salt (salt chloride) from the list of certified organic products. Salt is an inorganic mineral - it is not an organic or agricultural product.
The German Potash and Salt Association (VKS) welcomes the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) to strengthen the European raw materials supply security. Potash and salt are key mineral raw materials for food security, extracted from underground deposits by conventional and solution mining techniques.

The Russian war against Ukraine, critical dependencies on raw materials supply from outside the EU and disrupted supply chains during the corona pandemic have highlighted the vulnerability of the European economy.
VKS represents the German Potash and Salt producing companies. VKS welcomes the EU proposal for a Certification Framework for Carbon Removals published by the European Commission on 30 November 2020. To ensure a successful implementation of the proposed framework VKS asks the European institutions to take the attached comments into account.
