The diverse business areas of the approximately 160 members include TV, radio, web and streaming offerings.
VAUNET considers the existing EU copyright framework to remain broadly fit for purpose. The review, and any targeted initiative that may follow, should focus on making the current rules work in practice. AI can be a powerful driver of innovation, economic growth and better journalism and audiovisual services.

V. appreciates the opportunity to comment on the EU Commission's White Paper and respectfully requests that the attached considerations be taken into account in the further consultation process. VAUNET is the German umbrella organization of private media providers.
Achieving a functioning and economically and culturally balanced internal market requires the creation of a level playing field and a level playing field in digital markets and in the online world. The private broadcasting organisations in Germany, with a turnover of around EUR 11,4 billion in 2019, are a major cultural and economic factor.
