What they argued

Plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques and their food and feedfiled 4 Nov 2023source

Supports the Commission proposal, supporting science-backed decisions. I consider that Category 1 NTG plants should be considered equivalent to those obtained by conventional improvement. I am in favour of innovation in genetic improvement to develop new varieties that boost food security and ensure sustainability in agri-food production and the growth of rural areas.

VAT and circular economyfiled 28 Sept 2026source

We welcome the European Commission’s initiative to align the VAT system with the circular economy. For this transition to be effective and support competitiveness, there is an urgent need to establish true tax neutrality that removes bureaucratic barriers on refurbished versus new goods.
