Our members play a key role in the operationalisation of the Cybersecurity Act by acting as Certification Bodies (CBs) and Information Technology Security Evaluation Facilities (ITSEFs).

TIC Council, the global association of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector, represents the independent verifiers in the CBAM regulation. TIC Council supports the extension of CBAM to downstream products and the anti-circumvention measures proposed by the European Commission. This proposal will act against international carbon leakage and align CBAM more with the EU ETS.

Clarify the term independent person; 2. Need for guidance for the international carbon markets recognition; 3. Recognition of verification evidence when coming from an accredited body following international standards; 4.

TIC Council welcomes the opening of the discussions on the implementation of the DPP. An ex-ante certification scheme is the most likely to result in the success of the DPP initiative. Enforcement levels are likely to be low, especially in the first few months of legislation implementation, leading to low DPP uptake, or an abundance of DPP systems that are data venerable.

The revision of the Standardisation Regulation presents an opportunity to future-proof Europes standardisation system while preserving its core strengths. As the global voice of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, TIC Council advocates for the following priorities: 1.

TIC Council welcomes the European Commission public consultation on how high-quality international carbon credits, as proposed by the Climate Law, may best support flexibility and efficiency in achieving 2040s climate target. For international carbon credits to be successfully embedded in the EUs targets, they need to be credible, measurable, and tradable.

As the voice of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry in Europe, TIC Council welcomes the European Commissions initiative to evaluate and potentially revise Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and product compliance at a time when the Single Market faces increasing pressure from rising e-commerce, complex global supply chains and uneven enforcement capacity across Member States.
