Introduction: The Brewers of Europe is the trade confederation uniting 28 national brewers' associations to promote and represent the interests of Europe's ten thousand beer breweries. The elimination of waste and the creation of a truly circular economy have been on the agenda of European brewers since well before the European Union defined this as one of its flagship initiatives.

The Brewers of Europe highlights in the attached submission five central imperatives: prioritising food-contact safety and availability - Mandated recycled content quotas must be backed by a sufficient, high-quality, and food-grade supply of recyclate (specifically food-grade rPET), including by ensuring that beverage producers retain fair access to rPET generated through well-functioning Deposit Return Systems.

Contribution from The Brewers of Europe to the evaluation of the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive The Brewers of Europe brings together national brewers associations and companies from 28 countries to represent and support the interests of Europes 10,000+ breweries. We welcome the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive.

The single market encourages competition between Member States. The high price of beer in several high tax countries has led consumers to seek out more affordable alternatives abroad. In doing so, these consumers are exercising their legitimate right to purchase beer where taxes (and prices) are lower.
