SKR submits that: — SKR is in favour of updating the Ambient Air Quality Directive. It is urgent to have a high level of ambition. It is important to reach the WHO’s recommendations in the long term, but this requires that it can be met with reasonable measures and at a reasonable pace.

Welcomes the proposal for a Savings and Investment Union; The proposal addresses many relevant aspects as well as the need for a Capital Markets Union and the issue of banking union. Sweden has a tradition of channelling private savings into investments and thus a great deal of experience on the benefits and challenges of the system.

Summary For Sweden and the EU, it is of utmost importance that there is the possibility to provide operating aid to our airports. The General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) is an effective basis for it, but the forms of aid need to be modernised and developed. In view of increased safety and availability requirements, smaller airports need a higher limit on when operating aid may be granted.

The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR) is in favour of existing European anti-discrimination legislation, but does not consider that the organisation and operation of national equality bodies should be regulated at EU level. The Association considers that already existing recommendations are sufficient and that it is the practical work at local workplace level that is decisive.
