Finnish Motorists’ Association (SMOTO) is not in favour of extending the End-of Life Vehicles Directive to motorised two-wheelers. The effects of the directive would be more negative and would reduce the actual reuse of parts. By our study in 2021 ELV Directive does not improve the recycling on motorised two-wheelers. On the contrary, it makes the recycling worse.

Suomen Motoristit ry is not in favor of mandatory periodic inspections of motorized two-wheelers in all Member States. In line with current practice, Member States should be able to decide for themselves on effective road safety measures. Mandatory periodic inspections of motorized two-wheelers are not such.
