Today's learners also need the ability to think critically, collaborate across cultures, solve complex problems and make sense of information in an increasingly AI-driven world. Schools should become learning ecosystems where academic achievement is connected with curiosity, agency, wellbeing and real-world challenges.
As a secondary school teacher in Ceuta, Spain, and an active participant in several European and International education initiatives, I believe the future attractiveness of the teaching profession depends on much more than recruitment or salaries--although both remain essential.
