In other words, our members include companies producing, transporting and trading electricity. Our members produce 130-140 TWh annually, which is around 95 percent of all power production in Norway.

Energy Norway is a non-profit industry organization representing about 270 companies involved in the production, distribution and trading of electricity in Norway. Energy Norway's members vision are an all renewable, all-electric decarbonized society. We believe early action with the use of market design and instruments, is key to achieving this decarbonization at the fastest rate and lowest cost.

Renewables Norway organises the largest hydropower producers in Norway. We find that there is need for simplification of the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) criteria 3 for hydropower. Hydropower constitutes the backbone of Norways electricity system The EU Taxonomy plays a vital role in enabling sustainable finance and guiding investments toward environmentally sound activities.

Energy Norway supports the European ambition for climate-neutrality in the EU by 2050. The global climate agreement from December 2015, sets out a clear obligation to keep global temperature rise well below 2 degrees Celsius and to pursue efforts to 1.5 degrees. For Europe to lead on this ambition, a net-zero carbon EU by 2050 must be pursued.

Dear Commission, Please find Energy Norway's feedback on the EU ETS proposal attached. Energy Norway is an association that represents the whole electricity chain in Norway. In other words, our members include companies producing, transporting and trading electricity. Our members produce 130-140 TWh annually, which is around 95 percent of all power production in Norway.

Energy Norway represents the whole electricity chain in Norway. In other words, our members include companies producing, transporting, or trading electricity. Our members have approximately 2.5 million grid customers, which is about 90 percent of Norway's grid customers.

We would like to directly address the policy options to achieve renewable energy goals for the post 2030-period. Renewables Norway firstly sees the need to stay focused on implementing exisiting policy tools in the RED leglslation, with an updated indicative EU-wide goal for renewables energy.

On behalf of Renewables Norway we submit our feedback on the draft changes in the EU taxonomy delegated act. We organise the hydropower producers in Norway. Hydropower constitutes the backbone of Norways electricity system, and the EU taxonomy plays a vital role in enabling sustainable financing and guiding investments toward environmentally sound activities.

Key messages from Renewables Norway: We support a 2040 climate target of 90% emission reductions to reach climate neutrality in 2050. An ambitious climate policy is needed to meet the 1,5-degree target of the Paris agreement. Regulations should be based on market-based principles - carbon pricing through ETS should remain the key instrument. Care should be taken when introducing international credits.

Renewables Norway input for the legislative proposal on the Net Zero Industry Act Renewables Norway welcomes the focus of the EU on green industrial development, and we share the ambition to build competitive and sustainable supply chains in Europe. Norway can contribute significantly to the European green industry agenda.

Renewables Norway represents the renewable energy industry in Norway. We work to ensure that Norway becomes a zero-emissions society as quickly as possible, with growth and value creation based on renewable energy, electrification, and other emission-free energy use.

We strongly support the 90% target for 2040 and the ETS with a ceiling, LRF and carbon price as the main instrument to reach the target. We also see a need for a non-binding EU-level subtarget for renewable energy to maintain investor confidence in uncertain times. Finally we see a need for an electrification subtarget.

Conclusion The proposal will undermine investor confidence, reduce incentives for cost efficient investments in renewable energy, reduce the competitiveness of renewable energy, punish early movers, fragment the internal market, reduce liquidity, impact physical markets, incentivise consumers to locate in zones with a low proportion of renewable energy, punish countries that have loyally followed up delimitation of…

Renewables Norway represents the renewable industry in Norway. We welcome the European Commission's (EC) intention to strengthen transparency in the European market. REMIT is a complex and technical legislation, and market participants (MPs) expect a robust regulation that is easy to understand and implement. We welcome some of the proposed updates to the regulation, for instance, the part on algorithmic trading.

Electrification and the transition to renewable energy sources combine emission reductions and energy efficiency. Energy Norway supports the proposal to raise the renewable target for 2030 to 45% in the Renewable Energy Directive. The transition to green energy should be driven by the 55% emission reductions target and the ETS mechanism.
