What they argued
Renewables Norway organises the largest hydropower producers in Norway. We find that there is need for simplification of the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) criteria 3 for hydropower. Hydropower constitutes the backbone of Norways electricity system The EU Taxonomy plays a vital role in enabling sustainable finance and guiding investments toward environmentally sound activities.
We would like to directly address the policy options to achieve renewable energy goals for the post 2030-period. Renewables Norway firstly sees the need to stay focused on implementing exisiting policy tools in the RED leglslation, with an updated indicative EU-wide goal for renewables energy.
On behalf of Renewables Norway we submit our feedback on the draft changes in the EU taxonomy delegated act. We organise the hydropower producers in Norway. Hydropower constitutes the backbone of Norways electricity system, and the EU taxonomy plays a vital role in enabling sustainable financing and guiding investments toward environmentally sound activities.
Renewables Norway represents the renewable energy industry in Norway. We work to ensure that Norway becomes a zero-emissions society as quickly as possible, with growth and value creation based on renewable energy, electrification, and other emission-free energy use.
We strongly support the 90% target for 2040 and the ETS with a ceiling, LRF and carbon price as the main instrument to reach the target. We also see a need for a non-binding EU-level subtarget for renewable energy to maintain investor confidence in uncertain times. Finally we see a need for an electrification subtarget.
