Artificial acceleration of market demand completely ignores the lack of regulatory framework necessary to achieve such high electrification rates in the EU. Nor does it take into account the diverse needs of customers. The current slowdown is due to the lack of appropriate conditions and not to the shortage of vehicle supply.

Ladies and gentlemen, we consider this proposal to be very useful. The solutions proposed would significantly facilitate the use of longer and heavier vehicles in international traffic, in particular within the ESM system.

Polish Automotive Industry Association (PZPM) - a member of ACEA - endorses the ACEA input to the public consultation as attached. According to current market estimates, the 2030 target is unachievable and penalties could range between 20 and 25 billion euros for the EU car industry. Giving Poland as an example, even with subsidies in place the current share of registrations of new zeroemission cars is around 6%.
