What they argued
Oil Change International appreciate the opportunity to provide comments on the EUs Arctic strategy, of which we have the following recommendations: The EU must uphold its commitment to an Arctic hydrocarbon moratorium and establish a clear timeline to phase out oil and gas from the Barents Sea, which is north of the Arctic Circle in Norway.
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is extremely expensive, cannot actually capture sufficient emissions or store them safely, and will expose local communities and nature to risk across Europe if a CO2 transport network is built.
