I am submitting this feedback on behalf of the North Donegal Fishermen's Group, which represents small-scale inshore fishermen operating along Ireland's north-west coast. The proposed simplification of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and the transposition of the WTO Agreement present an opportunity to strengthen support for sustainable coastal communities and Europe's seafood sector.

What they argued
For the EMFAF consultation, I would avoid framing the submission around fisheries compensation or sector-specific grievances. The strongest approach is to connect fisheries funding with Europe's wider objectives for food security, coastal resilience and sustainable ocean governance.
