Carbon leakage is a clear and present danger for many Norwegian industries. It should be noted that the risk of carbon leakage is not limited to the threat of relocation of activities but also impinge on daily operations and profitability and most importantly, future investments.
The Federation of Norwegian Industries (Norsk Industri) is grateful for the opportunity to comment on the forthcoming revision of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EEDII). It should be noted that Norway is still in the process of transposing the recently agreed review of the Energy Efficiency Directive (Directive 2018/2002) into national legislation.
