Pharma Industry Finland strongly supports the objectives of the proposed Biotech Act and recognizes its potential to strengthen the EUs competitiveness, attract investment, expand clinical research activity and accelerate patients access to innovative therapies. The Biotech Act offers an opportunity to reinforce Europes position as a competitive location for life sciences.
For its part, the pharmaceutical industry has committed itself to taking into account environmental aspects and has long been spontaneously seeking to reduce the environmental burden of pharmaceutical production. The objective of the proposed Directive to protect the environment from the harmful effects of inadequately treated urban waste water is good and supported and in line with the European Green Deal.
