Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) is one of Europe’s largest programme operators for environmental product declarations (EPDs) of construction products. With its around 170 member companies and around 50 member associations at German, European, and global levels it represents far more than 3’000 producers of construction products from all sectors and of all sizes. IBU fully supports the European Green Deal.
The draft of the new CPR will bring life to the issue of environmental sustainability. The use of SPDs as a key tool to describe environmental characteristics is logical; it builds on the existing capacity and experience and thus strengthens the environmental sustainability of the whole construction sector in a highly efficient way.
