We support the European Commission’s objective to harmonise EPR registration and reporting through the implementing act referred to in Article 44(14) of Regulation (EU) 2025/40. However, the draft falls short of European standardisation. National registers, different reporting channels, additional requirements and the obligation to appoint authorised representatives remain largely in place.

In view of the high volume of packaging and the associated use of resources, the Garten Industry Association (IVG) e.V. welcomes the Commission’s efforts to set binding targets for the reduction of waste. We also share the intention to lay down uniform packaging labelling in the light of the current differences in labelling requirements and the associated problems that manufacturers are currently facing.

With regard to the EUDR our members can be primarily characterized as companies in the downstream supply chain which produce and trade relevant (composite) products and thus fall within the scope of the EUDR. The green sector industry is currently working intensively to implement and meet the future requirements of the EUDR. The Industrieverband Garten (IVG) e.V.
The IVG fully supports the European objective of a harmonised market for fertilising products. However, without adjustments, the FPR risks driving manufacturers back to national frameworks, undermining the level playing field and fragmenting the single market.
The Industrieverband Garten (IVG) welcomes the European Commissions initiative to define binding pathways for the land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector up to 2030.
