The existence of national marks and certification requirements has historically been a financial and administrative burden on the industry and their removal (and prevention of proliferation) was welcome.
IGI – The Global Wallcoverings Association – does not support the inclusion of titanium dioxide and other PSLTs (Poorly Soluble Low Toxicity substances) in REACH annex VI, for the CLP regulations. This proposed classification for titanium dioxide is based on a test of lung overload in rats, and has no relevance to humans or any exposure situation experienced in reality.
IGI, the Global Wallcoverings Association, welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the European Commissions initiative to revise the EU Standardisation Regulation. We strongly support the European standardisation system and, in particular, the role of harmonised European standards (hENs) in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Single Market, supporting regulatory compliance, and fostering innovation.
