The Polish Food and Agriculture Fund supports NGT technology and sees it as an opportunity for the development of agriculture in Europe. Category 2 NGT plants include differentiated combinations of traits that do not present a higher risk than category 1 NGTs or conventionally bred plants, as confirmed by the EFSA opinion (11/07/2024).

Please find below our position in relation to the Commission’s Call for Evidence concerning the delegated act under Regulation (EU) 2026/1388. The success of the New Legislative Framework for plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques will depend on the Delegated Regulation, which must provide legal certainty while ensuring a practical, proportionate and innovation-friendly approach.
