FEBEA represents more than 300 manufacturing companies, of which over 80 % are SMEs, selling cosmetic products in France and internationally in accordance with EC Regulation No 1223/2009 (perfumes, makeup, hair care products, skincare products, and hygiene and Toiletry products), which are marketed through various distribution systems.

FEBEA brings together and represents more than 300 manufacturing companies (over 80 % of which are SMEs), selling cosmetic products, through a wide range of distribution channels. FEBEA welcomes the European Commissions initiative to review Directive (EU) 2019/633 on unfair trading practices (UTPD) in the agricultural and food supply chain.

FEBEA calls for a revision of the MSR that ensures a coherent, proportionate and adapted framework to the challenges of e-commerce. A strengthened monitoring and enforcement system will better protect consumers, support compliant businesses and safeguard the competitiveness of European industry. FEBEA is a french cosmetic association with more than 350 members representing 95 % of the companies manufacturing cosmetic products in France. We would like to share with the Commission our position regarding the objectives published in the Inception Impact Assessment and highlight the long history of a high level of safety of European cosmetic products based on specific risk assessment.
