ERT believes that the creation of a 28th regime may address genuine issues faced by businesses – particularly SMEs and scale-ups – which would like to set up and expand operations across the EU Single Market.

The European Round Table for Industry (ERT) strongly supports the European Commissions efforts to simplify EU legislation with respect to taxes. At a time of slow economic growth and intensifying global competition, the EU must place business competitiveness at the centre of its policy agenda.
The European Round Table for Industry (ERT) appreciates the European Commission's initiative to review and recast the Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC). We fully endorse the Commissions political objective, outlined in the Long-Term Competitiveness Communication, to reduce administrative burdens associated with reporting requirements by 25%.
ERT is convinced that effective competition law enforcement is critical to ensure open markets, deliver consumer benefits and maintain a fair level-playing field between companies.
