European Cycling Industries (formerly CIE & CONEBI) is the united voice of the European cycling sector, representing national industry associations across Europe and companies covering all stages of the cycling value chain in manufacturing and services.
The European Cycling Industries believes in the important role played by batteries in the proliferation of sustainable mobility. As more Europeans buy E-Bikes, having the right battery configuration becomes important to ensure the sustainability of the technology behind the transport method. ECI believes that LMTs face several challenges in implementing the Commission's proposal for recycled content in batteries.
CIE welcomes the European Commission’s revision of the ITS Directive and supports efforts to facilitate more efficient deployment and use of ITS solutions. However, we see that the proposed revision does not address crucial areas in the deployment of ITS technologies for active mobility, in particular cycling.
