The increased ambition in emissions reduction proposed in the EU Green Deal, which Eni fully subscribes to, requires additional commitment and the addressing of all GHGs and not just CO2. As a signatory of the Methane Guiding Principles, OGCI and OGMP 2.0, Eni is keen to provide valuable contributions to this process.

Eni welcomes the initiative of the European Commission and supports the development of a cost-effective and efficient regulation aimed at measuring and reducing methane emissions along the full energy chains considered, as well as the comprehensive approach, covering not only the energy sector, but also agriculture and waste.

Eni welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the forthcoming revision of the Regulation on CO2 standards for light-duty vehicles (LDV). We support the Commissions initiative to evaluate the effectiveness of the current framework and to adapt it in response to evolving market conditions and technological advancements.

Versalis, Enis chemical company, welcomes the European Commissions intention to propose an Implementing Regulation establishing EU-wide end-of-waste (EoW) criteria for mechanically and solvent based recycled plastics.

Versalis, Enis chemical company, welcomes and supports the European Commissions ongoing work on the PPWR implementing act concerning the assessment and verification of the equivalence of recycled plastics originating from third countries. The implementing act should establish a robust, predictable and enforceable equivalence framework.

After the raft of legislation on permitting recently put forward via various legislative vehicles, we believe it is crucial to provide the maximum support at EU level to achieve full and consistent national implementation across Member States (MS) and to reduce regulatory uncertainty currently faced by market players.

As Eni S.p.A., we believe the proposed targeted Electricity Market Design (EMD) reform put forward by the European Commission marks a positive step in starting to address the changes in the EMD required to: Make sure that consumers can benefit from increasing renewable energy coming on grid and can better participate to the market in a more decentralised system.

Eni welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback to the call for evidence for the initiative EU energy security framework revision. The current framework helped manage gas supply during the recent crisis but maintaining emergency measures such as storage obligations risks worsening high and volatile prices.

Eni S.p.A. welcomes the opportunity to provide comments to the draft Commissions Delegated Regulation on supplementing Directive EU 2018/2001 by further extending the scope of the data to be included in the Union database to cover relevant data from the point of production or collection of the raw material used for the fuel production. Eni would like to express its appreciation for the opportunity to provide feedback to the European Commission about the revision of data reporting rules under REMIT Regulation. Our detailed response here attached touches upon the following key points: i) Simplification: Proposals to further to reduce administrative burdens on MPs and REMIT ACERs costs.

The new rules will support hedging activities of energy companies and the wider real economy, helping to maintain and develop liquid and well-functioning EU energy markets, and thus guaranteeing a secure, affordable, and sustainable energy supply.
