What they argued
To achieve the EUs 2040 climate objectives and higher shares of renewable energy, the electricity system must become significantly more flexible. Smart and bidirectional charging of electric vehicles provides a scalable, cost-effective and already available source of flexibility.
ElaadNL welcomes the revision of the Network Code on Requirements for Generators, recognizing it as a significant advancement for integrating Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and other storage technologies in the European electricity system. Please find attached our detailed response.
Due to the expected growth in the number of recharging points for electric vehicles in Europe, considering the obligations in AFIR and the Fitfor55 package, the potential impact of a cyber attack on recharging infrastructure is increasing.
