Combating the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child sexual abuse material. Recastfiled 21 May 2024PDFsource

ECPAT Sweden welcomes the Commissions proposal for a recast of directive 2011/93/EU and its commitment to combat and prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation online and offline. The recast is an important step towards harmonizing national legislation among Member states regarding substantial criminal law, procedural law, prevention, care and support as well as victims rights to compensation.

Amending Interim Regulation on a temporary derogation from certain provisions of the ePrivacy Directive for the purpose of combating online child sexual abusefiled 9 Feb 2024source

ECPAT Sweden welcomes the Commission's proposal to extend the temporary derogation from specific provisions of Directive 2002/58/EC aimed at combating online child sexual abuse. We want to stress the importance of extending this derogation beyond its current expiry date, ensuring no lapse in the protection of children online.
