However, Ecologistas en Acción is concerned about the lack of effective and decisive measures to remove chemicals of concern from packaging, and considers the proposed labelling measures insufficient.

The draft Critical Raw Materials Act text, in its current form, does not exclude deep-sea mining from its scope. Article 2(6) includes mineral occurrence(s) under water within its definition of extractive activities under the scope of the regulation, which essentially refers to seabed mining.

Nature is a common public good at the basis of social and economic well-being but also has a right to exist in itself and for itself. While the EU explores the development of nature credits, these mechanisms carry significant risks of commodification, privatization, and financialisation of ecosystems and natural elements such as water or land.

ince 2013, European aviation CO2 emissions have increased 27.6% compared to a 19.7% decrease for other sectors in the ETS. However, aviation has so far escaped its responsibility to cut emissions compared to other sectors. It will be increasingly socially and politically untenable for the aviation sector to continue to grow despite measures in place to decarbonise other sectors.

Amendment of the Aarhus Reg. is the only means available to the EU legislature to bring the EU into compliance with its international law obligations.
