I believe that in order to address all anxiety related to climate, global warming and biotic stressors, the way in which new varieties are obtained must be updated. It is much safer than having a new variety where it is known that only a gene has been modified/edited/improved than varieties that are randomly crossed products and it is not known in which other genes have been modified/edited/improved or worsened…

EU funded project ANERIS Consortium The European ANERIS (operAtional seNsing lifE technologies for maRIne ecosystemS) project has been developing marine life sensing technologies and has conceptualised the Operational Marine Biology (OMB) products (Piera et al. 2025) over the past three years.
