The current proposal for amendment does not cover anything other than the obligation to mention on labels the country or countries of origin in which honey has been harvested, which has already been mandatory in Spain since 2020…

COAG welcomes the revision of the Unfair Trading Practices Directive as a crucial opportunity to address the structural weaknesses of the food sector and strengthen farmers’ position in the value chain. The Commission’s evaluation of December 2025 makes it clear that the current legislation still does not provide sufficient protection for farmers.
