The EUs growing role in international ocean governance, combined with its reliance on seafood imports and shared stocks, requires a more coherent external fisheries policy. For importers, aligning external action with the Common Fisheries Policy is important but challenging. Importers support EU efforts to promote sustainability, fair competition, and stronger governance.
