Confindustria Radio Televisioni expresses its appreciation for the work done by the European Commission in boosting the simplification of regulations at European level of central issues for the radio and television sector, and beyond.

CRTV represents the Italian public service broadcaster and the main commercial radio and television broadcasting groups operating in Italy. As such, CRTV strongly supports the objective of strengthening Europes digital infrastructures, improving connectivity, enhancing technological innovation and reinforcing Europes strategic autonomy in an increasingly competitive and geopolitically unstable environment.

CRTV emphasizes the need to preserve the balance of the audiovisual ecosystem, particularly in countries like Italy where free-to-air TV ensures universal access to local and EU contents and supports cultural and social cohesion.

Confindustria Radio Televisioni wishes to share with the European Commission its comments on certain aspects of the so-called Copyright Directive, a measure of particular interest to its member broadcasting companies. The Association has previously expressed its satisfaction with the text currently in force.

In annex, Confindustria Radio Televisioni’s response to the EU White Paper consultation – ‘How to master Europe’s digital infrastructure needs?’ Confindustria Radio Televisioni (CRTV) is a category membership of Italian television and radio media, established in June 2013.

With this contribution, Confindustria Radiotelevisioni intends to provide some reflections on the prospects for revising the set of rules laid down in the AVMSD, with a view to contributing to the evolution of the rules in a pro-competitive manner. Lassociazione agrees with approach No 2 entitled Targeted regulatory intervention set out by the Commission in Section B of the consultation document.

CRTV welcomes the ECs Call for Evidence on the EU position for WRC-27. CRTVs main concern relates to WRC-27 AI 10 and preliminary AI 2.14 concerning Res. 235 (Rev. WRC-23) and the future of the 470694 MHz band. CRTV considers that the EC should propose an EU position not to support the inclusion of preliminary AI 2.14 as an agenda item for WRC-31.
