Dear Sir or Madam, from our point of view of the skilled trades, regulation has become even more complex and has a considerable effort in terms of further evidence for construction products. The German carpentry association is affected accordingly, as our member companies with between 1 to 60 workers (Ø 5,4) usually also produce or use construction products.

Feedback on the draft implementing act on the DPP Registry: The majority of carpentry businesses are organised as traditional craft enterprises. Nearly two thirds of businesses employ fewer than ten people, and around half are even micro-enterprises with fewer than five employees. This gives rise to specific challenges, particularly from a staffing perspective.
Promoting circular artisanal services: The carpentry and joinery sector supports the objective of aligning the European VAT framework more closely with the principles of the circular economy. In particular, repair, refurbishment and professional refurbishment of existing products should not be subject to a tax disadvantage compared to their early replacement by new products.
