What they argued

Waste Framework Directive: textiles and food wastefiled 22 Nov 2023PDFsource

The BGA supports the Commission’s proposal to set food waste reduction targets for Member States by 2030 as part of the revision of the Waste Framework Directive. If properly and proportionately set, these targets can accelerate the reduction of food waste along the food supply chain, while supporting the EU’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 (SDG 12.3).

Plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques and their food and feedfiled 3 Nov 2023PDFsource

The BGA welcomes the European Commission’s proposal of 5 July 2023 to re-regulate New Genomic Techniques (NGT). From a scientific point of view, it makes sense to assess new plant varieties on the basis of their characteristics, regardless of the way in which they are produced. This is particularly true where there is no distinction between conventionally bred plants.
