We welcome the revision of the EU-CLP Regulation, but point out that it should not lead to an additional burden in terms of reporting obligations for economic operators. The Echa database already provides some valuable indications and the system of poison centres is sufficiently implemented.

After a few years of practical application of the FPR, it is clear that it is coherent and works in the internal market. However, there are considerable costs and red tape associated with the implementation of manufacturers and medium-sized traders. In this way, guidance on use could be omitted, especially as farmers are themselves competent and are best placed to assess the needs of their crops.

Better nutrient management with the aim of reducing nutrient losses guides the efficient use of mineral fertilisers. In principle, these have a relatively high efficiency, but there are still possibilities for optimisation, for example by adding nitrification and urease inhibitors to mineral nitrogen fertilisers.
