The proposal to revise the Bio Regulation seems reasonable but should not go any further, particularly with regard to organic farms, which must have outdoor access for their food and well-being. It is important for me to reject all synthetic products and GMOs to ensure our food.

As a contact point for the Normandy Regional Association of Organic Farming for short supply chains and mass catering, I am also concerned about the downward revision of the criteria in the specification for AB within the EU. Despite its existence for many years, consumers are struggling to find themselves on all labels and the AB label remains the most identified and reliable in the eyes of the mangers.

Simplification of the product specification for organic farming should be limited to clarifying the labelling of products imported from outside the EU, in order to provide consumers with informed information about organic products coming from countries outside the EU. Any amendment or update must under no circumstances call into question the key requirements of the product specification.
