April, the industrial and financial backbone of the French oilseed and vegetable-protein sector, welcomes the opportunity to contribute to this consultation. We support the general ambition of the proposed Industrial Accelerator Act, and in particular the approach based on European-content and low-carbon-intensity requirements, which is directly relevant to the development of biobased industries in the Union.

This contribution underlines the importance of converging the issues of energy and industrial sovereignty, the competitiveness of European industry and the decarbonisation of the economy, in order to ensure that future EU rules are consistent with current challenges.

A private operator very involved in animal nutrition and production in France, we would like to make a few contributions: 1. Allow 95 % organic feed for all poultry. The current 100 % organic rule leads us to loss of performance, animal welfare issues (which is counterproductive) and significantly discourages farmers. The future of the organic poultry sector is at the heart of this issue. 2.

AVRIL is a French agro-industrial group and a pioneer in oilseed processing and plant-based protein and oil production. Through its subsidiary SAIPOL, France's foremost oilseed crusher and biodiesel producer, AVRIL operates the largest FAME biodiesel production capacity in France, processing rapeseed and sunflower into biodiesel and rapeseed meal for animal feed.
April, the French leader in the vegetable oil and protein sector (8Mds of turnover, 7500 employees), is firmly committed to climate action. Due to the outlets of oilseed crops, Avril is an important player in human (table oil) and animal (protein for livestock), but also in decarbonising the economy (renewable energy for transport, renewable oil-based chemistry).
