The purpose of the DNSH principle is to ensure that the investments financed do not cause significant harm to the six environmental objectives defined in Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2020/852. There are currently no ‘amount thresholds’ below which the DNSH does not apply; evaluation is mandatory for aid and investments of any size, but the complexity of the documentation varies depending on the type of intervention.
