We welcome and support the overall objectives and product-specific framework approach of the ESPR Proposal, as well as the explicit acknowledgment in recital (16) of the ESPR Proposal of key specificities of space products with regard to any ecodesign requirements.
ASD-EUROSPACE strongly supports the European Commission's proposal COM(2025) 986 of 10.12.2025 to repeal the obligation to report SCIP (substances of concern in products)-related data as well as ECHAs SCIP Database by amending the EU Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC (WFD).

The European space sector is a structurally distinct user of advanced materials. It operates with very low production volumes, extreme performance and reliability requirements, long qualification cycles, and mission lifetimes spanning decades.
