Public procurement represents a major lever for public investment and must be made more efficient through simplification, legal coherence and digitalisation. The current framework remains overly complex, fragmented and burdensome, particularly for local authorities and SMEs, including architectural practices.
The ACE represents over 500,000 architects from 36 European countries (including all EU Member States) through 53 Member Organisations, plus observers and special status members (e.g., UK, Switzerland, Norway). ACE welcomes the skills portability initiative to boost the internal market and EU competitiveness.
The Architects Council of Europe (ACE) is the representative organisation for the architectural profession at European level. According to the ACE Sector Study, there is every reason to believe that the potential of mobility within the EU is strong, provided that architects can find adequate support. Architectural services are already among the most open and liberalised professional services in the Single Market.
