The revision of the public procurement directives is to be welcomed in view of the dynamically changing procurement environment, including through progressive technologisation and skills shortages. The recast must be based on economic, efficient and rapid procurement. Central to this is the simplification of the existing legal framework for public procurement in the EU, not a complication.
