ANIMA Confindustria

ANIMA Confindustria represents more than 1,000 manufacturing companies operating in the mechanical engineering and component sectors, active across 35 different industries along the entire industrial value chain. These companies are strongly involved in public procurement markets, both as direct suppliers to public administrations and as downstream operators in major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects.

ANIMA Confindustria, the Italian federation of mechanical manufacturers, is generally supportive of extending the CBAM scope to downstream products. However, several concerns remain. First, ANIMA strongly advocates for a sector-specific rather than a general approach to determining which downstream products should fall under the CBAM scope, given that some products are part of multiple value chains.

ANIMA Confindustria, as an umbrella organization of 34 Associations, represents the interests of more than 1.000 companies of the mechanical engineering industry in general, promoting companies and their products, both in Italy and abroad, supporting them in resolving their technical and economic challenges.

The proposed reporting requirements under Article 24 of the ESPR Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 are set to be implemented across industries. Anima Confindustria wishes to express its concerns regarding the potential impact these obligations may have on the sectors it represents.
