A4E welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the European Commissions respective proposals on the enforcement of passenger rights and multimodal passenger rights. Our preliminary views are set out in the attachment and will be detailed further in our position papers which will be published soon.

A4E welcomes the opportunity to provide comments on the European Commission’s initiative to review the passenger rights regulatory framework. A4E would like to stress that the pending reform of Regulation 261/2004 remains critical for European airlines and consumers and would make a substantial contribution to addressing the issues mentioned in the call for evidence.

Airlines for Europe (A4E) welcomes the opportunity to provide comments on the European Commissions fitness check of EU airport legislation. EU airport legislation should be able to contribute to an efficient and competitive EU-wide market for airport services.

The Air Services Regulation (Regulation No 1008/2008 on common rules for the operation of air services in the Community) is one of the EUs major success stories and remains vital for European airlines. The creation of the EU internal market for air services has benefited both the aviation industry and European consumers for years.

A4E supports the European Commissions proposed Passenger Package and endorses the European Commissions objective of improving transparency and facilitating multimodal travel, while preserving commercial freedom, avoiding new distribution mandates for air carriers and ensuring legal certainty for voluntary multimodal arrangements.
