The Commissions proposal for a Cybersecurity Act 2 includes positive developments. In particular, harmonizing ICT supply chain security at the EU level is far more effective than maintaining twenty-seven separate national approaches for companies operating in different Member States, such as Airbus. Nevertheless, critical issues need to be addressed.

Airbus welcomes the EU Commission's intention to collect feedback on how RED could be promoted in the period post-2030 with a view to determine what additional EU action is needed to achieve the 2040 objectives and beyond. Unlike other transport sectors, aviation currently lacks a viable alternative to combustion engines, especially for markets above 100 seats on short and long haul flights.

Airbus particularly appreciates the formal inclusion of the aviation sector within the EU Taxonomy framework and the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed amendments to the EU Taxonomy. This serves as a vital acknowledgment of the industry's decarbonisation plan, underpinned by continuous technical progress.

Airbus welcomes the European Commission's intention to gather feedback, in order to clarify how the limited use of high-quality international carbon credits, as proposed in the revised Climate Law, may best support flexibility and efficiency in how the EUs 2040 climate target is achieved. We believe that harmonized and proportionate regulations for space operations, particularly concerning safety, sustainability, and resilience, are crucial for both Europe and the international community.
