Air Liquide welcomes the Commissions intention to propose an Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act (IDAA). We firmly believe that all available emission reduction technologies need to be supported in order to reach the EUs decarbonization and industrial objectives.

As a European medical device manufacturer (SME) with four other affiliates, we face significant challenges in navigating the current regulatory landscape. Our primary objective is to make the regulatory framework more predictable and efficient to support innovation while maintaining high standards for patient safety. We've identified several areas for improvement to create a more proportional and streamlined system.

Air Liquide welcomes the introduction of CBAM as a tool to address carbon leakage, and to foster decarbonisation in the EU and abroad. However, it will be crucial for CBAM to be applied in a workable manner to ensure decarbonization of industry, while ensuring the competitiveness of EU industry.

April 2026 Setting a Renewable Energy Framework for the decade ahead​ Air Liquide response to call for evidence Air Liquide welcomes the intention of the Commission to adapt the renewable energy framework for the decade ahead. Air Liquide itself has committed to decreasing its CO2 emissions in absolute value by 33% by 2035 (compared to 2020; at global scale).

We support the Commission's Industrial Carbon Management Strategy published in 2024, and the subsequent initiative to develop a regulatory framework for CO2 infrastructure and markets.
